High-altitude open-pit drilling air for an overseas mining project

Background

Mines in the Andes often sit above 4,000 m. Thin air cuts a compressor's real output sharply, and many machines bought on sea-level figures deliver far less than their rating on site.

Solution

Air flow was sized up by the altitude factor, with a turbocharged power platform, enlarged coolers and the desert filter kit, plus operation and maintenance training in the local language.

Results

Usable air at altitude meets the rigs' needs and shift footage reached the design target; filter intervals were extended.
