Background
In a metal products workshop, plasma cutting, air tools and the assembly line all draw air, and demand differs widely between shifts. With an unsuitable fixed-speed unit, idle running at low load is often higher than expected.
Solution
Total air was sized from each station's simultaneous use; an electric unit with a receiver handles peaks, and grouped service parts allow in-house maintenance.
Results
Lower power use at low load, and better cut edges thanks to stable pressure.
